Anyone and everyone please answer I need help!!!?

Ok so there is this girl that I have had a little crush on for about a year now on and off. I've never really talked to her before except for a couple texts. She gave me her number the lat day of school last year and said we need to hang out in my yearbook. But I wasn't really interesting in those texts. I don't know why but I say stupid stuff to this girl, so she probably doesn't even like me as a friend. Today, I texted her and she asked who it was. I said it's me, Kyle and she said ohh. It was really awkward for a while and then I said ok look I'm not really good at talking to girls especially ones I don't even know. Stupid stuff I know. Stuff just kept getting worse and worse and then I texted her saying sorry that was my little brother. She didn't believe it at all. So should I keep going with that lie or send her another text sayin something like: "ok here's the deal. I've had a crush on you for a while now and I don know why but i've been saying some really stupid **** to you. Can you give me another chance, because this isn't the normal me?" something along those lines? Again I know I have said really stupid stuff and I will take all criticism but I really need help with this please!!! Thanks in advance.
