How can I change my luck?

It is something I have been noticing for a while. There will be certain times of the year that my luck is great, better than ever, I'm unstoppable. But then there is some times of the year (like this time) that my luck is horrible. How can I change this? I have noticed that virtually everyone in my family has this problem. Its kinda like a family curse if you will. So my question is how can I stop this? I am willing to do anything. Thanks
