It sounds like you are both still at a stage where you haven't withdrawn your feelings completely, and aren't totally ready to throw in the towel. It's actually encouraging that you argue about it, because that means that at least you're communicating, but not in a helpful way yet. This is probably a really stupid question but I'm applying to SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design) for their cinematography and film studies major and I don't really understand how I would build a portfolio on my knowledge of that subject. I mean, I can't include films I have made in a portfolio unless it is an online portfolio and I believe they want a real in-the-flesh portfolio. So I really don't know how to go about it. I've read that they want your portfolio to reflect the courses you will be taking. Like if you are doing traditional art courses your portfolio should reflect that. But I don't know how I am to build a portfolio on films. Here is an interesting bubble activity. Kids like to pop bubbles right away. To teach 'wait time', have the kids sit while you blow the bubbles, and they pop them when you say 'POP'! The activity can get a bit tricky, you pair up kids with similar activity levels. Now this is 100% fool-proof. But you would be surprised how many 5 years just cannot sit and 'wait', while the 3 yr old next to him is patiently waiting to hear the word "POP"! Tell them to wait till they heat the word POP! before they pop the bubbles. Blow the bubbles, count to 5 silently, POP!; and see if this is a good time to start. You can add a few more seconds, or just a couple of seconds. As you do this activity through the year, you can add more time. Another variation, you can have two/three kids in your group. "Johnny will pop this bubble, Blow the bubble towards him, and maybe you will be successful. 'Now it is Jenny's turn to pop the bubble.' Some kids understand this, some don't. If you are totally unsuccessful, you can try another bubble game as the kids in this group may not have the base skills to understand turn-taking. This would be under social/emotional. General question from parent with child (ASD)?

I understand there are many different behaviors/symptoms of ASD and it's not that cut and dry. My son has ASD, his main areas of concern are sensory issues such as, speech, gross/fine motor skills and arm flapping/stimming(which is at least moderate, sometimes really severe/the stimming) . He is only mildly socially unaware, not insensitive, likes to engage and smile, sounds and lights don't bother him, however certain clothes do. I am looking for a parent that has a child with the same symptoms or maybe not. I would like advice and guidance on the things you may do that I am not currently doing. I know a lot of parents find food allergies/vitamins and other care besides pt, ot, speech. What are these vitamins and what are the main food allergies you find?. I will say that he has been in some form of ot and speech for 3+ years and I don't feel like his progression is as good as it should be, because there were times I would take him 5 hours week for these visits. Any advice? Any break through therapy or holistic things you do at home? Just newly informed to this and what to make all the appropriate and best decisions for his welfare.

Devastated and heartbroken please help?

I've been in love with this guy for three years. I've always been very supportive of him and loving. I got pregnant in the second year I knew him and when I told him he said he was going to dissapear. I ended up having a miscarriage and was devastated. He never once did anything to help comfort me and was already dating and having with someone new from his college.When she broke up with him he called me crying saying he was so in love with her and wanted her back and never even asked me if I was okay. We started to communicate more often after the fact and arranged for me to come visit him, he goes to school in another state. I brought the sonogram with me and a letter I wrote when I lost the baby because I never had the chance to have his support or tell him how I was feeling. I spent 700 dollars for the plane tickets to see him, when I was on the plane he told me over the phone that I was a "*****" and that when i got to the airport he wasnt going to be there. I cried the whole plane ride because it was too late for me to get off the plane and I was headed to another state with no one there or no purpose to be there. I ended up having to stay the weekend in a hotel and just cried. I havent been perfect during everything and I've gotten angry and sad because of the way hes treated me and tried to push him away. I havent seen him at all since having the miscarriage and I feel crushed and so much pain. He recently said he wanted to be with me and that he loved me after a year went by yet he makes endless promises of not forgetting me on valentines day or coming to visit and help fix the past and he never keeps them. As much as I love him and want so badly for things to work out I finally had enough of being let down that I said It was over. He said fine and that it was my fault for not trusting him. Hes always been nice to his other girlfriends and made them stuff and was devasted when he broke up with them...but for me he couldnt care less. I've been crying and caught up with guilt and pain over all of this. I can't understand how he could be a loving boyfriend who treated his other girlfriends like they were the best thing ever yet he treats me so cold and makes me feel like im nothing. ive done nothing to deserve this. any advice or comments would be appreciated

They gave me about five names and told me which one would be easy to get to from my house. I said, I'd rather they give me the name of a GOOD doctor. They said, 'Mmmm.That makes sense. as though they never thought of it before, and said, "OK, this doctor (they named him) is really good!. I asked them about emergencies. They gave me an 800 number and said, if it's an emergency be sure to call this number. Well, as an experiment, I called it. It just rang. No one ever answered. I checked to make sure it was the right number. It was. Tried again. Nobody answered. Then I got an appt with the 'good' doctor. I told him I had a sore throat. He sat back, wrote me a prescription, and handed it to me. He didn't bother examining me. So, if this is 'private' health care, isn't the argument about some gov't bureaucrat making decisions just a way to try to protect 'private' health care. -- I won't bother with all the rejections people have gotten by HMO's regarding deadly diseases they ended up dying from, since I'm only going by personal experience.

Why won't my cousin eat anything?

My cousin refuses to eat anything but chicken nuggets, cheese sticks, hot dogs (no bun), and ice cream. When he was younger I wasn't too worried about it, but now he is almost 14 and the problem hasn't gotten any better. We have tried to be firm with him, but nothing seems to work. Don't fool with the original creditors. Go to each collection agency to deal with this. I just in the last 3 months have done what you are going to do. First thing to do on the credit cards is to ask what the lowest amount they will accept. The collection agencies are great about settling credit card debt. I saved over 1000.00 on one cc alone, by asking. I ask them to report this to the three credit bureaus as settled in full. They said yes. After you make a settlement, make sure you write paid in full on each check. (I got this from financial counselor Suzy Orman). The collection agency will contact the credit bureaus for you and tell them this bill has been resolved in full. The collection agencies will also send you a letter stating that they are paid in full. I was unable to make a deal with the water company, but I paid them off in full. It will take a while to get things straightened out, but so worth it. I am finally debt free. But it is up to the credit bureaus to remove this junk off your reports. The way I understand it since your bills will be settled in full, they will have to remove all the negative info.from your report as though it never existed. I think it may take about 3 months to get everything settled, US bank told me after you pay the bills off. It is usually time consuming to work with credit bureaus, but we all have to.

Endometriosis? Women ONLY?

So TMI and WOMEN only!! Sorry but I really dont have money to go to a doctor right now but I have a question. My last few periods have been really painful and not like cramping, actual pain. And today I had spasms during a bowel movement (so sorry TMI) felt like my uterus and rectum were pulling together, I can honestly say I almost ped out from the pain! The rest of the day I have had the same pulling feeling boarding on pain and discomfort and one time it doubled me over. Is this endometriosis? Neutropenia/low blood counts from chemotherapy.....?

I have been getting chemotherapy (doxorubicin and ifex) for 2 rounds. After the first round I took neuprogen to keep my blood counts up and they stayed up. I cannot take much more of this. It seems like every time I try to do something I fail because I am so exhausted all of the time. I tried anti-depressants for 6+ months, but they just made me extremely lazy and in turn it just made me more frustrated. I have no support system...it's just me and the kids 24 hours a day. I think you are right, he should clean things up, but you should approach him differently about it. You are saying you want him to do this ONE thing only for his apartment. That's not much. Tell him without sounding like a mum, but rather encourage him. Make sure he knows that if he does clean up after his friends have come over, you will really appreciate that. Focus on the appreciation he would get, rather than the complaint about it not being done...I'm a guy. I am 12 years old and I am about to leave my middle school (no I know they don't have these in america) to go to high. Before leaving every student does a huge scale project on a chosen theme. I am doing protest art against nuclear bombs and bombings and I have sorted out the plan for most of my picture (I am doing a CND peace symbol and different elements in different parts of it. I have a town - i might do hiroshima but i most probably will convert it into somewhere local to me - before and after a bombing in the two largest sections. And I am filling the actual lines with a collage of related photos, letters, leaflet, badges, newspaper articles, poppies etc etc. Around the outside of my cnd peace sign I have half day, and half night the day inked with words such as 'love, hope, peace...' and the night inked with words like 'hate, anger, war...' Now I need your ideas as to what to do for the small sections... (I quite like drawing people but dont know how that would fit in?) HELP!!

Should we reinstate gymnastics compulsories?

Even though they were boring to watch compared to the optionals, I do actually miss them a little, because as you said it really allows us to compare everyone on a level basis. I disagree with you though that they were "easy". Although the skills were not nearly of the same difficulty level as in optional routines, compulsories required gymnasts to display total command and control of basic skills, and this really exposed the technical weaknesses of many gymnasts, especially those with poor form, which many gymnasts even at the Olympic level seem to have these days. Nowadays, great form is just not as highly valued as degree of difficulty, and I think there should be more of a balance of the two, which is why Nastia Liukin is my favorite gymnast and a well-deserving Olympic champion.

It was just a case of monetary theft of $60,000, but instead of taking it directly to civil court, a police report was filed, and now it's being tried as a criminal proceeding. The criminal proceeding started on 01/25/2010. There have been four proceedings, and the next further one is 05/04/2010 (not sentencing). What can I do (i.e. raise some kind of motion or what) to get it brought down to a civil matter? I live in California.

I've always been trying, for six months, to write better essays, but I can never get to the 250 words. For instance, once I was asked to write a leaflet warning the risks one might have setting off fireworks. I could only write up to 150 words.

Why is it that some people just can't seem to "respectfully" disagree with others opinions? ?

I have a relative who can't disagree with someone on an issue without calling them stupid, idiot, mindless, or attaching some other derogatory label to them. This person is college educated and graduated with top honors. I'm having a hard time understanding how they can be this way. Is there a clinical definition of what they might be suffering from?

Baby used to sleep through the night but now waking?

My baby son is nearly 5 months old. He started to sleep through the night when he was about 3 months old. He would sleep for about 10 hours straight through. Recently he started waking twice in the night for a feed. He was also showing other signs of being ready to start weaning such as sucking his hands, not being satisfied after drinking a full bottle, getting hungry after just 2 hours since his last feed etc etc. I wanted to wait until 6 months to start weaning as per the current advise from health care experts so I switched him from SMA Gold Formula to SMA Hungrier Baby Formula. I hoped this could delay weaning. It made no difference at all and my baby just guzzled it all down as if it were the same milk. My health visitor suggested I started weaning as my baby was obviously a hungry baby and ready to wean. Last week I started with baby rice but it wasn't satisfying him. I am now giving him approximately 10 teaspoons of fruit/vegetable puree at lunchtime and the same amount of baby rice in the evening as well as all his usual bottles (approx 6 bottles throughout 24hrs 9oz each - SMA Hungrier Baby Formula). Despite all this my baby is still waking up hungry at night. Has anyone else experienced this?

Are we asking too much?

I am a bridesmaid and I feel like we are asking too much. All the maids are putting together a bridal shower for the bride. Each guest will bring a gift (obviously) and I did something special where in the invitation is a recipe card. Each guest will bring a completed recipe card and I will put together a cookbook for the bride. Now another bridesmaid wants to ask people to bring new y underwear for the bride to string across the backyard. I feel like we are asking the guests to bring too much. Every time I say that it sounds a little greedy I am shot down. Not to mention that I already sealed all the envelopes and would have to buy new ones. The bride is insisting we ask for all the stuff. % of daycare cost for custodial and noncustodial parents?

My ex and I have 2 kids. We have a child support order in place. She forgot to bring up the cost of daycare when her and I wrote up the agreement with the court. We both signed the agreement and went in front of the judge. Judge asked if there was anything else and we both said no. Now because she forgot to bring up daycare in the meeting we have to either write up an agreement between eachother or go back to court so she can get some money from me for daycare. What would be better to do? Whats the % each parent will have to pay for daycare costs if we went through court? Should I make her go back through court or should I write an agreement with her? If it were me that forgot to bring up something in court she would most likely tell me its my problem. What do you think?

I'm going to get a small tattoo on my ankle to symbolise the end of a two and half year illness which basically stopped me from doing everything I wanted. We have a web application (built on vb.net 3.5, heavy use of JS for navigation, page validation, UI interaction) that runs very well on many of the new browsers, however, some of our clients (for reasons outside of our control) use IE7 and complain constantly of extreme slowness that you don't see when you load the software up in a more recent browser (FF, Chrome, Opera or IE8 for example), even on the same computer. We have ruled out network issues, viruses, and hardware. Some time ago we heard that there may be an issue where IE7 works slowly when asked to render a site that is served from a MS Win2008 Web Server, has anyone ever heard of this and could they possibly share what they have so that I can explain it to our client.

Can heavy periods lead to decreased hemoglobin and anemia?

Ive been suffering from some pretty heavy periods since I started at age 11. 4 wks after I had my daughter via c-section I experienced 2 gruesome periods 2 weeks apart..at that time I saw my OB and she said that period blood loss usually does not cause anemia. Everytime I go for a check up and get blood work done at my GP I am always anemic..I try very hard to stick to a multi-vitamin/iron supplement but it seems they both irritate my stomach..Any advice ladies? I know birth control is an option to decrease heavy periods, but I would prefer to stay off them.

Alright my parents Have a weird idea on grades at school. I play my Xbox I get Bs. They got pissed so they took it away. Now I have Ds. Black nail varnish problem?

Er..I was wearing red nail polish one for ages and when I took it off it was a weird color. I just re-painted my nails and it turned out fine when my nails grew. It seems to me like it's just a surface stain and it will grow out with your nails. I now use a base coat and that stops the staining.

Is there something wrong with my back ? ?

Well im only 21 right now. Ive had occasional back issues since i was 16 or 17. Even when I was younger after i run my lower back is sometimes sore. I have flat feet which im sure does not help matters. But when I was 16 was the first time i actually was in pain. I was swinging a bat and all of a sudden my lower back hurt badly. But it seemed like if I layed down it would hurt more and in the mornings it hurt but once i get up and walk around a bit it starts to feel better. After a day or two it feels 100% again. This same type of injury happened probably 10 times since then. Recently it seems to always involve being hunched over for a long period while doing strenuous work. It does not seem to be an injury that is muscle related. Maging and rubbing the area does nothing to make it feel better. Also Ive been using a machine at the gym for my lower back and I can do a large amount of weight with no issues at all. I also do alot of abdominal work. One issue ive found though is that when on an inclined bench doing abs if i lean back putting alot of stress of my lower abs and back i hear a small pop each time. It does not hurt it just worries me alittle bit. Im not sure if this is a problem ociated with my flat feet, a disk, a nerve or something else.

Why is windows vista telling me that I need a new product key?

Ok so I installed windows vista on my desktop after I had installed a new hard drive. I think I used the same one that had been on my labtop, however when I did it windows did not say anything and accepted the activation. Now (3 weeks later) it is saying that I need a new product code. When I turn it on there is a screen basically saying click here to enter new product code, and a on for microsoft help, and one for buying a product code online. It will let me access the internet through these ons but not my files. So i went out and got a new version of windows vista(still the same version i installed just one with a new product code). however, when i hit the on that said enter new product code here, and put in said new code, it said it was not valid. what do I do? I really need to be able to access these files. I just spent the last 2 hours searching microstofts help thing(which i have found is not all that helpfull), and so even a toll free number or something would be nic

Some attention needy a$$ is standing out on his balcony facing into our EXTREMELY echo-prone condo complex, and screaming. He's cheering for a sports game or something, but its almost midnight and he's waking up my family everytime he screams at the top of his lungs. He doesn't do it constantly- just every now and then - but for the last hour or so. I am tempted to go ask him to be quiet but I am afraid he's mad-drunk and will do something rash! Can I call the cops?? If so - can I just tip them off, or do I have to "file a report"? This isn't the first time this jerk has been blantantly loud and obnoxious and he is directly across from us. I get up at 5:30 am everyday...maybe I should just scream on my balcony every morning at how happy I am to be awake! You'll need to figure out if it s spark or fuel. Do you have the 350 in it ? If so did the water pump leak . This can take out the dist causing a miss fire. You'll have to find a place that you can trust to find out whats going on. You know it # 4 cyl so that makes it a little easier Pull the plug wire off a test for spark if you have spark there pull the plug. Does it look good Most auto parts stores have a chat to show you what a good or bad plug looks like. Also check the plug for wetness This will tell you if the injector is firing . If no trouble is find you'll have to go to the repair shop and have the injector tested for power and ground to it and if its flowing fuel or not

One and a half year lab throwing up now for 2 days intermittently?

My lab BJ - had a slight change of diet two days back. In that I hired a new cook and the same bread was made by a different person. It might have been a little, just a wee bit, raw perhaps. He puked it the whole thing Monday evening with bile juices. Then the next day he puked his morning meal again. And some biscuits. I gave him some medicine (gastroesophageal reflux disease (GORD/GERD) medicine) last night so he kept down his morning meal today. Again, this evening, he puked out the boiled rice. He is a bit lethargic though not completely tired. I am calling his vet today - but am a bit worried it could be poisoning? Any experiences? Anything I can do to make him feel better in the meantime?

Alright so I run track and I'm a sprinter. I run the 100, 4x1, and 300 hurdles. These are all sprinting events. Track has ended and I decided that I'm going to try and stay in shape because the soccer season starts mid August, also for my own enjoyment because I've come to like running believe it or not. Anyway my question is since I'm running long distance will it affect my sprinting ability? Will it make me a slower sprinter is what I'm trying to say basically. I personally believe that animals have souls. They have a personality, right? I understand that this is partially caused by their brain chemistry, but they can feel sad if you abuse them if you treat them well and suddenly snap. As a uninsured motorist what should I do about the guy that just totaled his car on the back of my van?

He was drunk and rear ended my parked vehicle while I was in the house watching tv. I called the police he went to jail for DUI and drug possesion. His car was towed and the police never asked for my insurance, good thing because I currently have none. My vehicle is driveable, but I don't know if I am entitled to anything from his insurance company.
