Does Islam encourage you to be a better person, because a good life is all you have to win eternal life?

Real Muslims hardly care about the life of this world,that's why people see us giving away all our money to the poor,building mosques every where,and praying at least 5 times a day if not more.We refrain from fornication cause it breaks up family's,we refrain from backbiting cause it hurts peoples feelings,we have to talk nice to EVERYONE which is probably the hardest thing LOL and we have to repent sincerely and give up that sin every time we do a sin as little as cursing.So in a way yes I would say we have more reason but that's just my opinion. :)
